Danger Zone
Penetration is an exchange on several levels: Five of the works come from the USA and three from Germany, namely from the CrossSound Festival 2002 in Alaska and the night studio multimedia 2003 in Potsdam.
The works presented are neither settings nor films, but the result of close collaboration between composers and video artists.
Despite the critical selection, penetrations offer a wide range of contributions that range between lyrical and cheerful moods:
The Korean / US co-production Texture Mapping is a poetic journey into a meditative universe of water, kayagum and string quartet sounds; on the other hand, the German / Polish Danger Zone documents bizarre, trashy and violent beats underlaid with a prefabricated housing estate, its puppies and masters and their legacies such as balcony decorations, garbage and dog droppings.
